A squirrel in a crawl space? That's not a usual place for squirrels... Have you actually SEEN it? And squirrels will readily enter a trap, they have a natural curiosity. And if he's been down there for two weeks, he has access to water, for sure. Either that or he's getting out somewhere else.

Methinks you MAY have a rat. Adult rats are very reluctant to enter traps, they are very smart.
