We assumed it was a squirrel because a few days after we first heard the noises it turned warm for 2 days and we saw a grey squirrel in our maple tree close to the house and saw it again running down the driveway. There has been a grey squirrel hanging about our neighborhood for a few years now. We assumed it was him.

The space the animal is occupying is a crawl space under a family room extension we built on our house 30 years ago. Its built on sonotubes and has about a foot clearance under there.

How can I find out what it is if its not our neighborhood squirrel? The guy I got the trap from is flabbergasted that we haven't captured him yet since we've tried 3 different traps. I think he's starting to think I'm wonky. Thanks.
