Actually, I don't know what it is. I live in a 1940 house. The living room closet ceiling is the only attic access, and it's open to the attic. The closet is stacked with full boxes, from when I moved in. A month ago, I heard running in my attic. Then 10 days ago, I heard peeping sounds coming from the closet. Now I hear scratching...but not all the time. We have tons of squirrels in the area...I hope it's squirrels and not rats. I know I have to reclaim my closet, but I'm scared to death to open that door. Is there something I can do to drive whatever it is up through the attic so I can at least get the closet empty and the ceiling hole closed? What if I throw a bug bomb in there? Thanks for any advice you can give me!!
