The 1030 has the same cage grid as the 1040, the 1040 is just 6 inches longer. It's sold as a "rabbit" trap, but it's perfect for the big grey squirrels with those long tails. I use nothing but the 1040 - for squirrels, at least.

I do have a couple of 1025s, which I lend out to my termite renewal customers who want to trap the chippies, but I never use them myself.

I remember a customer that showed me a picture of a squirrel he caught in a 1025, he was really stuffed in there! lol
