I used a borrowed Beeman .177 to do most of my eradication (31 with the Beeman out of 50) but only once on a trapped tree rat. Even with a 1000 FPS muzzle velocity it still took 4 shots and I found dispatching the critter in that manner very unpleasant. One also runs the risk of a ricochet or damaging the trap. I would go with John’s recommendation using the RV antifreeze in you dunk tank. It is one thing to drop them from a tree or pop a cap on them while they are on the ground but quite another to off them with an air rifle while in a trap.
