Thanks. Actually I live in central NJ, and I've gotten three gray squirrels in my attic. A fourth died of natural causes, so I'm pretty sure the offender here is a fifth squirrel. What I'm wondering is why the squirrel seems to leave the chum alone for a few days before going in. I assumed it doesn't frequent my attic the way the other four did. Also, FYI I have a havahart baited, but I leave a few peanuts outside the trap to lure the animal to the area. So far, it only seems to go for the outside nuts. Should I eventually just leave the food inside the trap to force it to go in?
