We have no Chipmunks in our area.
I found that our attic fan is an open access to our attic and have closed that off with a mesh wire. We also found an access to our kitchen through a large opening for an electrical conduit.
I have baited our trap again with a minimal movement on the trigger mechanism/ Will let you know.

My next step will be to follow your suggestion about a glueboard.

Have you heard of other rodents that hoard nuts inside a building?
