My first experience with squirrels in my attic was about a year a go they made holes in the soffit and just tore it to pieces. Had someone help me with traps and by repairing the damaged area. Squirrels still in attic after the repair. I beg the guy to please help me! So he came back with traps & he got a few & removed them, but that did not help with the one that was still trapped. So of course it died but it was cold so I think thats why I never smelled the death in my attic but my young sons noticed the invasion of flies, as did I & bc they are small Im the only one who knew why! Which completely freaked me out! After that Im rodent free for about a couple of months. Then I hear the constant jumping & scratching above my bedroom ceiling. So I found the new entry which was an air conditioning vent that I guess they chewed a whole through. So once again the ONLY person I have or who is willing to "help" decides to trap & poison. After a couple of days GONE no more maddening scratching. But he wouldnt close the entry point he said once we trap & kill you will be fine. Well I was for 6 months & they have just returned. I don't know what to do. Ive read everything on your site but Im a single female w/3 young boys & I am really petrified to go in that attic. Scared to death they are going to get out while the attic door is down & if I did catch one in a trap I dont know how I would get it out of the attic & then dispose of it!! Nobody locally (Baton Rouge,LA) will even try to help. Kids scared to sleep bc all the hear is scratching. Don't even know how many could be up there. I hear them in different parts of house. Any suggestions besides packing up & leaving!! I would give anything to be your neighbor!!
