Duh, what an idiot I am!!! Thank you for your post, because as it turns out, I have a HAVAHART 1025, which I bought several years ago to trap squirrels(big mistake). Then, I discovered John's wonderful board and found out that the HAVAHART 1040 is the best trap for squirrels. Lately, I have found that chipmunks (I believe) have been eating the bait in my 1040, and getting away. I had completely forgotten about the 1025, until I saw your post and remembered that I still have that trap, which I will now set up to trap the chippies.
