John,

This is a follow-up to let you know how I made out with my latest squirrels in the attic problem. As you know, it appeared to me that I either had some very bright or some trap shy squirrels. As it turned out, I found out that you were (as usual) correct in assuming that squirrels are not very smart.

Having had tremendous success in the past with your advice on this board, I followed it again to a tee! The result is that I eventually caught ALL three of the attic rats, one at a time, over the course of a week. My guess is that at least one (the last one) was trap shy, probably a "catch and release" by some tree hugger.

I just want to thank you again for your "open baited trap" and then "set baited trap" trick, which is how I caught #3. It has been a week now, and I haven't heard a peep in my attic. I plan to seal the attic vents sometime in March or April, but in the meantime, I'll know what to do if their relatives decide to fill "the vacancy" BTW, all 3 squirrels, along with the 40 or so others I have trapped since using your wonderful board, "SLEEP WITH THE FISHES"

Thanks again,

Yank
