Some of the answers:
Bait: crackers with peanut butter. There
are several palm trees, pine trees all which provide
them with food. Still no luck getting them to take
bait.

Trap type: Havahart 1062 (other option was 1025, which
is too small by some of your previous postings)

Trap: covered with pine needles, all garbage containers
have to be kept inside garage except on garbage day; so not able to put out trash to disguise the trap
