Rat Zapper isn't perfect. Sometimes it DOESN'T kill. And since it is a kill device, it can kill some non-target animal. Squirrels are just so easy to live trap, that it doesn't seem worthwhile to take the risk.

There are, however, many times when the Rat Zapper might be appropriate for use, it's just another tool we can use.

I prefer, mostly, to use a live trap, I can see what I've caught, still alive and make the decision as to what to do with it, depending on what it is. A live trap give you the final choice.
