Frankly, I really don't think it matters where you put it. I tell people (especially if there's a light up there) to put it under the light if it's easy. Otherwise, stick yourself up through the hatch and put it in a position where you'll know if it's been eaten, touched or moved. And even though they're sight animals, they can smell pretty good too.

Don't fix anything until there's no more squirrels. Go thru my squirrel pages (above) for more hints!
