hi, I have 2 Havahart 1078s which I'm using to try and trap the tree squirrels which moved in to my vaulted ceiling. They feed on my back decks (there is a huge midden on my bottom back deck next to the patio door) so I've set up the traps next to those middens.

However, I've watched the squirrels go in to the traps and take the bait (I smear peanut butter directly onto the plate), then come out again without tripping the trigger, so I think the trigger isn't sensitive enough and or the squirrels are too light. I've tried setting the trigger so that just the tip is holding the door open, but the squirrels still don't trip the trigger. Any advice would be much appreciated!
