Not to step on John's toes or anything, but aluminum foil smeared with peanut butter with a Reese's peanut butter cup placed on top while surrounded by four shelled peanuts is bait that no squirrel can resist. It is a redundant bait because if ants or rain ruin the bait, then you still have four shelled peanuts available. One time I caught a squirrel within 15 minutes after placing this bait out. She completely ignored the chum and went directly for the main course. Just a suggestion if you do not catch this critter within the next two days.
