I figured we had an earthquake and it turned out I was right... but I found a dirty footprint on one of the shelves and as I was about to investigate this I found an adult brown squirrel urinating on the floor in the back room. It looked right at me, finished peeing and just scampered into the furnace room. There are no ins or outs in the furnished basement and I have sealed up the door to that back room until I can buy a trap in the morning. I was wondering about unconventional methods for these guys entering the house, you know, vents in the roof, some underground excavation, etc.
