But recently I have been seeing more in my yard, mainly because the large oak tree is providing copious amounts of food for them. Unfortunately, it also means that the squirrels are less interested in my peanut-butter laced trap, set under the tree. Which makes me believe it's time to ask the neighbor for his pellet gun. I didn't want it to come to this, but I want to be able to kill + patch holes before the cold-weather sets in and I fear these squirrels are too well fed for my regular trapping antics.
Any thoughts/suggestions as far as shooting these sonofabitches? I figure pile of seeds in a place I can "shoot down" at them to prevent any stray pellets hitting something other than the intended target. Plus I expect 2 shot kill, 1 to stun, 1 to eliminate... this is coming from way back to my BB-gun days back when I was 12.
