I've located the entry site (next to my chimney under a facia board)... thanks for the tale tail tip about the black smudges. The big problem is there is no access for me to the area over the master bathroom. It's a drop down soffit area, the rest of the master bedroom is vaulted ceilings to the roof line. Short of cutting holes in my ceiling, which I will have to do eventually to remove the debris, I'm forced to lay a trap on my sloping roof.
Will it work? Should I test bait for a few days so they are confident with the trap? I'm sure there is more than one. Will the survivor fall for the trap too? And oh god, what do I do with it once I've caught it? I live in California and would rather release it miles away than deal with my vet aspiring teenage daughter.
