Check with your state Fish and Game for regulations on live trapping before you start. In Ohio where I live, they recently changed the law from release on your own property or euthanize to release only. Only licensed pest companies can now euthanize without a permit from the Ohio DNR. I caught a squirrel today and released it about 2.5 miles from my home. I am not a pro but that seems like a long haul for a squirrel to make it back home from. Especially since he would have to cross a freeway to do so.
