We live in a townhome and this Fall their were squirrels in our ceiling. We could hear them running, squeaking & chewing. My husband found the spot where they were getting in but didn't want to patch it and kill them thus creating another problem.

We have to go through our HOA and they called someone out who supposedly took care of it. Cut to almost 6 months later and they are back. They didnt even bother to patch the place they were getting into which we didnt realize until now when they have returned. It pisses me off because the guy actually said they always come back and its very prevalent in this area so he knew if he didnt patch it they would come back and he would have to be paid again to come out.

Anyways the last few weeks we have been hearing them again with the usual running, chewing and occasional squeaking. Today there is also a strange sound I cant explain it, almost like a soft knocking every few seconds in the same area which is accompanied by constant squeaks for long increments (i.e. 20+ minutes at a time). We think the may have had and are still having babies up there, but there is no way to get to them. Its a process to go through the HOA to get someone out here, but we dont have a choice because we are renters and have to abide by our lease agreement of going through our property manage company. Because it's a townhome and we have an open floor plan and the location they are is above our kitchen and family room. The noise is constant and cant be drowned out. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated! We don want to kill them just safely remove them.

Not sure if this helps, but we have seen them go in the opening and they are smaller squirrels that almost look like chipmunks so we think they may be small ground squirrels.

THANK YOU!
