Well, I look at it this way: If you're in there to get squirrels out, you might as well get squirrels out, whatever you can get. Sometimes an electric heating pad can lure them to its warmth, at which point you will be able to get them out. (Put it in a box you can close quickly,)
And, yes, there's always the danger you WON'T be able to get them, and they die is an out-of-reach area. Happens. Happens a lot. In fact, it happens many times without you even knowing about it, baby squirrels don't normally have a lot of body mass. So there's a good chance it won't affect you. And, like I say, they really don't have a lot of body mass...
